Work With Us

About Us
Niseko jobs available with Sea And Summit Collective – media house, guiding, Hokkaido travel services and destination marketing. We are always looking for experienced guides, creatives, marketing and operations staff to join our team. Our company provides epic guided outdoor experiences for Hokkaido visitors as well as commercial photography, video production, travel services, digital marketing consulting and destination marketing for the travel & tourism industry in Hokkaido.

From deep powder winters to temperate summers, our goal is to share the beauty of Hokkaido and provide unforgettable experiences for visitors from overseas, and to help our commercial clients tell stories through high-impact visuals and strategic digital marketing campaigns.

Role Overview
We are looking for a Marketing Specialist to own the marketing that drives all of it, based here in Niseko and working directly with our founder and in-house creatives. This is a hands-on role for someone who sits where marketing meets content, and who wants to help build a travel brand, not just maintain one, in one of the most beautiful and snow-sure places on earth. This role focuses on strategy, messaging, execution, and communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market our travel services and curated Hokkaido journeys to international travelers, turning interest into planning enquiries and bookings
  • Build and run our marketing to the travel trade: the advisors, agents and OTAs who sell our journeys, including partner communications, sales collateral and our travel advisor partner kit
  • Plan and run seasonal marketing campaigns across web, email (EDMs) and social that serve both our direct travelers and our trade partners
  • Manage and grow our two Instagram brands: @seaandsummitcollective (experiences and journeys) and @nisekojapan (destination marketing)
  • Write and send regular blogs and email newsletters that promote our journeys and experiences and showcase Niseko and Hokkaido to overseas visitors
  • Keep the website current across our journeys, experiences and trade pages (WordPress)
  • Brief and plan visual content with our in-house photographers and videographers, and create some of your own where it helps you move quickly
  • Run our SEO and track performance across channels, reporting clearly on what drives enquiries and bookings

This is a broad role at a growing company. You will wear several hats across consumer and trade marketing, and help us decide where to focus.

What We’re Looking For

  • A creative background is a major advantage. If you can capture and create your own original content, photo and video, you will move faster, own social and short-form trends directly, and lean less on pulling our creatives off assignment. Marketers who shoot and edit, or content creators who market, will stand out
  • 2+ years in digital marketing, ideally within travel, tourism or hospitality
  • An understanding of how travel is sold and distributed, both direct to travelers and through advisors, agents or OTAs. This is central to the role
  • Hands-on social and content skills: you create, schedule and grow Instagram and short-form video, and you understand what performs and why
  • A confident writer in English who can speak to both travelers and trade partners, persuasively and without the hard sell
  • Comfortable in WordPress and an email platform (we use Mailchimp)
  • Working knowledge of SEO and analytics (Google Analytics, Search Console)
  • Self-directed: you can take a project from idea to live without daily oversight
  • Fluent English (Japanese is a strong plus given our market and partners)

Nice to Have

  • Experience marketing a DMC, tour operator, hotel or travel brand, especially to the trade
  • Background in snow sports, outdoor brands or adventure travel
  • Design skills (Canva or Adobe) for carousels, collateral and simple graphics
  • Familiarity with Meta Business Suite and basic video editing
  • Comfortable using AI tools to work faster and smarter
  • Strong skiing or snowboarding, and a genuine love of the mountains. You will be marketing a place you should want to explore

Why Work With Us

  • Help launch and grow the marketing for a locally based Hokkaido DMC, with real influence over how it is built
  • Market genuinely premium, access-driven journeys in one of the world’s best winter destinations
  • Live and work in Niseko, home to some of the most reliable, high-quality snow on the planet
  • Two brands and two audiences, travelers and the global travel trade, means broad and real marketing ownership
  • Small, capable team with a constant supply of world-class in-house visuals to draw from. Your work ships fast and you see its impact
  • Above-market pay for the region, plus season pass / subsidized accommodation support and other benefits
  • Real room to grow as the company grows

Role Overview

This role is You are the first person a guest or an agent partner hears from, the person who turns an enquiry into a confirmed booking, and the person who makes sure the booking lands exactly the way it was sold. Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to inbound enquiries quickly and with a level of service and local knowledge superior to that of other service providers in the area. Qualify the enquiry: party size, dates, ability, what the guest is actually after

  • Process booking requests for direct bookings and with agent partners: availability checks, holds, confirmations and amendments
  • Process changes and cancellations against supplier terms, and keep the guest or agent informed at every step

  • Maintain a booking calendar, and share the details of each service with our staff, booking partners, outsourced activity partners, etc.
  • Send pre arrival information and final itineraries, and answer the questions that come with them
  • Coordinate arrivals, transfers and check ins with drivers and property managers
  • Prepare and track vehicles: fuel, cleanliness, scheduling, roadworthiness
  • Manage safety equipment inventory and check that avalanche and safety gear is accounted for and serviceable
  • Issue, collect and file guest waivers before every guided activity, with no exceptions

  • Native or near native written English, at a standard you would be comfortable putting in front of a guest paying a premium rate
  • Two or more seasons or years in travel, hospitality, reservations or a comparable customer facing operations role
  • Genuinely organised: you work from a system, not from memory, and nothing falls through
  • Calm under load, and able to hold a warm tone with a guest while sorting potential challenges from behind the scenes

  • A valid Japanese driving licence, or an international permit valid for the full contract period
